Did Meta Remove Jobs from Facebook?

Optimize Digital Marketing
March 1, 2023

Nowadays, job seekers have many platforms they can use to find their next career. Avenues like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and more, allow businesses and applicants to interact about particular job listings. For around five years, Facebook was one of those platforms where users could look for employment.

But, as of February 22nd, Meta announced that the ‘jobs’ feature on Facebook Business profiles will no longer be available. The feature has been removed from the Facebook App, the Facebook mobile website, and the desktop site, respectively.

Let’s take a look at how the removal of Facebook jobs will affect the platform for business owners looking for candidates. We will also discuss how the team at Optimize can help alleviate the struggles of finding employees online.

Meta’s Changing Priorities for Facebook Users

For a while, job listings on Facebook were convenient ways for employers and seekers to find employment solutions on the platform. With Meta removing it altogether, existing job listings will vanish, meaning that businesses may need to look at other ways to promote positions on the platform.

While the platform has removed official job listings, business owners are still able to post job openings through organic content. These posts can be similar to the old job listings and encourage users to apply for their open positions.

As for Facebook jobs groups, they will be removed from the “jobs” category and placed in the “general” category. The “jobs” tab will be removed altogether, but users and business owners can use these groups to find and post job openings.

While these are minor changes to business pages, it does not interfere with the normal function of a Facebook Business page.

What Does the Removal of Jobs on Facebook Mean?

On the face of it, all it means is that you can no longer house job listings on your business’ Facebook profile. Although it lessens the amount of communication that you can have with potential candidates, your focus should be to have jobs or careers tab on your business’ website, or if you have LinkedIn, you could post jobs on that platform.

There are plenty of ways that you can still reach potential candidates, but Optimize Digital Marketing can assist you with that as well. Through our social and digital marketing solutions, we can provide you with plenty of options to stand out to job seekers on social media.

What Can Optimize Do to Help with Job Postings?

With the Jobs feature now removed, questions remain surrounding how business owners can find candidates on Facebook.

Optimize offers multiple solutions through our program to help business owners combat this change. If you are on one of our Social Media Management programs, we can create personalized content to share on your platforms.

We post to platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google, and more. We use tactics such as eye-catching graphics and engaging captions to share information relating to your current open position. We could also provide other information, such as schedule, compensation, and job description.

Along with that, we can post content linking to other employment platforms that your business may use, like LinkedIn or Indeed. Posting across various platforms increases the chances of potential employees viewing your job listing and providing you with a quality candidate.

When organic posting is not giving you the results you are looking for, digital ads are a great option. We offer multiple ad packages to help in the creation and implementation of hiring ads. We can create a consistent message across your social media platforms to direct them to apply where it is available.

We can create custom-made pop-ups for your website to push traffic to your careers page. Utilizing all your platforms and creating consistent messaging to help increase the possibility of business owners filling their open positions.
